Artisanal Dessert Brand Snowberry Accelerates Franchise Network Across Tier I and II Cities, Sets Sights on Overseas Expansion
Artisanal dessert brand Snowberry, known for its innovative, Instagrammable desserts, is expanding its presence across Tier I, Tier II and emerging markets. The brand aims to strengthen its supply-chain and franchise ecosystem, and introduce new dessert categories, redefining dessert indulgence with innovation, quality, and creativity. The contemporary dessert brand also eyes international expansion in the future.

Founded by Mr. Piyush Aggarwal and Mr. Preetvinder Singh in 2023, Snowberry is a contemporary dessert brand established with the idea of making desserts a memorable experience. The brand redefines indulgence with customisable dessert creation that is not just visually captivating but brings indo-global cocept innovations, quality, premiumization and customization to its customers.

‘‘From the beginning, our focus has been on innovation, premium ingredients, customisation and bringing new formats to the Indian dessert market, says Yamini Jain, Co-founder, Snowberry.

Snowberry’s Artisanal Menu

Snowberry artisanal menu combines global dessert concepts with flavours suited to the Indian palette, including Korean Bingsu, live real-fruit ice cream and Indian-inspired creations such as Kunafa Bingsu.

Retail Footprint & Brand Expansion Strategy

Over the course of its journey, Snowberry has expanded to 70+ outlets across India and continues to expand through a franchise-led model.

Commenting about the brand expansion strategy, Yamini says, ‘‘Our focus is on strengthening our presence across Tier I, Tier II and emerging markets, while maintaining consistency in product quality, branding and customer experience. International expansion is part of our long-term vision, while building a strong and sustainable domestic footprint.’’

She then says, ‘‘For us, growth is not just measured by the number of outlets, but by our ability to deliver a consistent and memorable Snowberry experience wherever the brand is present.’’

Presence in Digital Space and Special Events

The brand has also built a strong organic presence on social media, and had the opportunity to cater prestigious private events.
‘‘We had the opportunity to cater prestigious private events, including occasions for the Ambani family, while our outlets have been visited by well-known personalities,’’ says Yamini.

Role of Franchising Ecosystem

Snowberry expands its retail outlets through a franchising model, while working with partners who understand the local markets.

Talking about its franchising structure, Yamini says, ‘‘We provide structured support across branding, marketing, menus, digital platforms, campaigns, product launches and operational coordination. This combination of a standardized brand system and local market understanding helps us scale efficiently.’’ She adds, ‘‘Our central team works earnestly to ensure that the Snowberry experience remains consistent across locations.’’

Further discussing the franchising ecosystem in India, Yamini shares, ‘‘The franchise ecosystem is becoming more organized and process-driven. For an ice cream or dessert brand to scale successfully, having a strong franchise-ready system is important — including standardized products and processes, reliable supply chains, training, clear unit economics, brand guidelines and ongoing support.’’

She emphasizes that a strong franchisor-franchisee relationship is significant for the standard customer experience.

Training and Ongoing Support

Yamnini further discusses how training and support is a critical foundation for the franchise model.

She shares, ‘‘Our support extends from the initial setup of an outlet to ongoing product and operational training, marketing, digital platform management, campaigns and brand communication.’’

Technology and Data in Play

Yamini then discusses the role of technology and data in understanding sales patterns, customer behaviour, product performance and campaign responses. She shares that social media analytics play an important role in evaluating content and product launches, while digital platforms help us execute promotions and campaigns at scale.

Discussing the future role of technology, she says, ‘‘Going forward, technology will play an even greater role in inventory management, customer insights, marketing optimization and operational efficiency.’’

The technological and digital ecosystem will have the potential to take brand building and growth to a new level.

Snowberry’s Outlook on Frozen Dessert Market in India

Yamini shares that the frozen dessert market is moving beyond seasonal or impulse consumption towards premium, experiential and occasion-led indulgence. Urbanisation, rising disposable incomes, premiumisation, organised retail, food delivery and quick-commerce are contributing to the growth of the segment.

Further discussing the evolution in the sector, Yamini says, ‘‘Consumers are increasingly open to international dessert formats, but there is also a strong opportunity to adapt those formats to Indian tastes. For brands like Snowberry, the combination of innovation, experience and familiarity can help create products that feel both new and relevant.’’

Highlighting the key trends shaping the industry, Yamini says ‘‘We see experience-led consumption, premiumisation, and the combination of wellness and indulgence impacting the industry. The global flavours are being adapted to Indian preferences, and products are made visually appealing, and customisable to grab the attention of the customer.’’

These trends are not just impacting the frozen dessert industry but breaking the traditional concepts of desserts to make way for innovation, adaptation and premiumization in the segment.

Future Plans

Yamini lastly shares the vision for Snowberry. She aims to turn Snowberry into a strong, nationally recognised Indian dessert brand. She sees opportunities across larger-format stores, retail and international markets.

‘‘Over the next 5–10 years, we aim to deepen our presence across India, strengthen our supply-chain and franchise ecosystem, introduce new dessert categories and continue improving the customer experience through technology,’’ signs off Yamini.
