FNP’s Growth Strategy: Expansion in Tier II, Tier III Markets, Focus on Premium Offering with FNP Luxe, & Potential IPO Plans by 2028
Ferns N Petals (FNP) has transformed itself from a flower retail business into one of India’s largest celebrations and gifting brands, building a strong omnichannel ecosystem. Having crossed INR 1,000 crore in annual revenue in FY2026, the brand is now focused on strengthening its footprint across Tier II and Tier III markets. The brand also focuses on occasion-led collections, curated gifting combinations and premium offerings through FNP Luxe, catering to the evolving preferences of consumers. Looking ahead, FNP is working towards a potential IPO by 2028, while continuing to expand its omnichannel presence, deepen market penetration in Tier II and Tier III markets, and leverage technology to deliver personalized and premium gifting experiences. With these initiatives, the brand aims to establish itself as one of India’s leading celebrations and gifting brands in India.

Founded in 1994, Ferns N Petals (FNP) has evolved from a flower retail business into one of India’s largest celebrations and gifting brands, spanning flowers, cakes, personalised gifts, gourmet hampers, plants, décor and curated experiences. Over the years, the brand has built an omnichannel ecosystem combining digital convenience with physical retail.

‘‘FY26 marked a key milestone, with FNP crossing INR 1,000 crore in annual revenue, reaching approximately INR 1,085 crore. More importantly, we continue to evolve as consumers find newer reasons and moments to celebrate,’’ says Avi Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer, Ferns N Petals.

Retail Presence and Opportunities in Tier II and Tier III Markets

FNP serves consumers across 400+ cities and towns in India through digital commerce, physical retail and delivery partnerships, with a retail network of over 350 stores.

Talking about the brand’s expansion strategy, Avi said, ‘‘Our expansion strategy is focused on strengthening our omnichannel presence, particularly across Tier II and Tier III markets. Physical stores drive discovery and trust, while digital platforms bring convenience, assortment and accessibility. Our goal is to make FNP available wherever and whenever consumers have a reason to celebrate.’’

Avi further shares that Tier II and Tier III markets are a significant growth opportunity, driven by rising digital adoption and evolving consumer aspirations.

He adds, ‘‘We are seeing gifting expand beyond traditional festivals and milestones to friendships, professional achievements and everyday moments. Our approach is therefore occasion-first, with collections built around specific celebrations, regional preferences and relevant price points. Our digital reach, franchise network and delivery capabilities help us bring these offerings to emerging markets at scale.’’

Role of Franchising Model in Brand’s Growth

The franchise model has been an important driver of FNP’s retail expansion. The combination of local expertise with an established brand helps FNP to scale sustainably across markets.

‘‘Our partners bring local market understanding, community relationships and on-ground presence, while FNP supports them with brand strength, product innovation, occasion-led merchandising and marketing,’’ says Avi. ‘‘Stores play a wider role in brand discovery and consumer trust, complementing our digital ecosystem.’’

FNP’s Portfolio

FNP portfolio spans flowers, cakes, personalised gifts, gourmet hampers, plants, décor and curated gifting across personal, festive and corporate occasions.

While observing the consumer purchase behaviour, Avi says ‘‘While flowers and cakes remain core categories, consumers are increasingly seeking premium, personalised and more differentiated gifts. The shift we see is clear: consumers are not necessarily looking for bigger gifts, but better, more thoughtful ones. We are responding through occasion-first collections, curated combinations and premium offerings through FNP Luxe.

Technology and Data In-Play

Discussing the role of technology and data analytics in gifting and retail business, Avi mentions that technology and data help the brand understand consumer intent, product preferences and occasion-led demand more effectively.

AI has also improved the speed of creative development and experimentation, with execution becoming nearly four times faster in certain workflows. While AI allows us to test more variations and optimize campaigns faster, the emotional insight behind gifting remains human-led. Experiential marketing further helps FNP build deeper engagement through retail experiences, collaborations and FNP Luxe activations.

Inventory and Demand Forecasting During Festivities

During festivities, FNP curates channel-specific assortments, particularly ready-to-gift flowers, cakes, sweets, chocolates and hampers. The focus is on availability, relevance and consistent delivery during peak periods.

Sharing about festive preparations, Avi says, ‘‘Festive readiness starts well in advance through demand forecasting, inventory planning, merchandising and coordinated fulfilment. Our omnichannel model allows our website, app and retail network to serve planned gifting, while quick-commerce platforms such as Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy and Zomato help address last-minute demand.’’

Personalization: Core Trend During Gifting Season

Avi shares that consumers increasingly want products, messages and recommendations that feel relevant to the person and the occasion.

He says, ‘‘Personalisation is central to gifting because a gift ultimately reflects how well you know the recipient. For us, personalisation goes beyond adding a name or photograph; it also includes better curation and occasion-led discovery. The opportunity is to make thoughtful gifting easier while balancing relevance with convenience and reliable fulfilment.’’

Gifting Market in India

According to a report, the Indian gifting market was valued at USD 75.16 Billion in 2024, and is expected to reach USD 92.32 Billion by 2030, rising at a CAGR of 3.55%.With the increasing online gifting and e-commerce platforms offering a variety of gifting options, and the convenience of online shopping, coupled with the availability of a wide range of personalized products, has led to the growth of this segment. The market is also driven by changing consumer preferences and increasing awareness of gifting etiquette, offering significant opportunities for both domestic and international players, especially in the areas of personalization, innovation, and digitalization.

Brand’s Long-Term Roadmap

The brand’s long-term focus is strengthening FNP as a leading celebrations brand through omnichannel expansion, deeper Tier II and Tier III penetration, premium gifting and technology-led personalisation.

‘‘We will continue investing in occasion-first product innovation, FNP Luxe, corporate gifting and international opportunities while improving operational efficiency. We are also working towards a potential IPO by the end of calendar year 2028, subject to market conditions and business readiness,’’signs off Qazi.
