Delhi-based marriage registration portal Register MyMarriage.com has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from angel investor network Mumbai Angels in a seed round.
Angel investor Praveen Dubey also participated in the round.
The firm will use the funds to expand its registration services to wills, divorces, birth certificates, income certificates, etc, it said.
Ten Strike Consultancy Pvt Ltd, which runs and operates Register MyMarriage, was founded by management graduate Ankur Arun and lawyer Gaurav Sharma in 2014.
Prior to setting up Register MyMarriage, Arun was director at financial services firm Jaypee Capital, while Sharma founded and operated his own law firm in Gurgaon.
Sharma is also a promoter in CernoTech, a firm that offers cloud-based solutions to small and medium enterprises. The firm helps users register their marriages online by processing all the necessary government documentation.
Arun said, "In India, the official registration of key life events such as birth, marriage, death and divorce is a cumbersome and highly fragmented process. Documentation can also be problematic resulting in innumerable hours being wasted by both individual applicants and officials. We are developing automation technology to solve this complex pan India problem."
The company currently operates in the National Capital Region (NCR). It has serviced over 32,000 customers in less than two years.
Sharma said, "There is also strong social impact towards rights and participation in society for women and the poor. We would aggregate lawyers to provide a low cost service riding on our robust technology."
