BSM India, an industrial machinery and manufacturing solutions provider, has opened a new Experience Store in Delhi to help manufacturers evaluate equipment before making purchasing decisions. The facility brings machinery displays, live demonstrations, sampling, and trial opportunities under one roof. The initiative aims to address a common challenge in industrial procurement, where businesses often have limited opportunities to test machinery before investing in equipment.
Through the new store, customers can examine machines, assess their capabilities, and determine whether they meet their production requirements before placing orders. The facility is part of BSM India's broader strategy to provide manufacturing solutions that extend beyond equipment sales to include production planning, installation, technical assistance and operational support. Founded in 1984 as Bengal Shoe Machinery, BSM India has expanded from footwear machinery into a broader portfolio of industrial equipment. Its solutions cover cutting, stitching, finishing, embossing, adhesive application, packaging, and testing, among other manufacturing processes.
The Experience Store introduces a more hands-on approach to industrial machinery procurement. Instead of relying solely on catalogues and technical specifications, manufacturers can assess equipment in person and evaluate its suitability for their products, production capacity, and budgets. The facility also allows customers to explore available machinery and participate in demonstrations and trials. According to the company, this approach is intended to make equipment selection more transparent and help businesses make informed investment decisions.
Ainesh Sikdar, Director and CEO of BSM India said, “Our vision behind the BSM Experience Store was to transform how industrial machinery is discovered and purchased in India. Instead of relying on catalogues or importing machines only after an order, we bring extensive inventory, live demonstrations, sampling, and trials together under one roof. Customers can experience the technology firsthand, select the right solution, and rely on BSM for everything from delivery to installation. Just as one test-drives a car before buying it, we believe every business should be able to experience its machinery before making an investment.”
Beyond machinery sales, BSM India provides installation assistance, technical guidance, maintenance support, and other services to help manufacturers integrate equipment into their production processes. Over the past four decades, BSM India has expanded its business to serve manufacturers across several industries. Its machinery portfolio caters to footwear, leather goods, bags and belts, garments and apparel, furniture and upholstery, safety products, sporting goods, orthopaedics, packaging, stationery and toys.
The company also supports businesses with production-line planning, machinery sourcing, installation and factory optimisation. These services are intended to help manufacturers select equipment that aligns with their operational needs and production goals.
Manoj Sikdar, Director at BSM India and a member of the second generation of the family associated with the business, said the new facility builds on the company's longstanding focus on customer requirements and manufacturing technology.
“BSM’s journey has always been about understanding the needs of manufacturers and evolving alongside the industry. Having been part of the second generation of this business, I believe that building on our legacy means more than preserving what we have created; it means finding new ways to serve our customers better. The Experience Store is a step in that direction. We want manufacturers to have greater access to technology, the opportunity to evaluate machinery before investing, and the confidence that they have a dependable partner throughout their manufacturing journey. As we move forward, our focus remains on strengthening customer relationships, embracing innovation and helping Indian businesses build more efficient and capable production systems,” he added.
According to the company's profile, BSM India has more than 40 years of industry experience, offers over 400 varieties of industrial machinery and serves more than 40,000 customers. The Delhi facility brings machinery discovery, product evaluation and customer support together in a single location. The company aims to help manufacturers assess available technologies before committing capital to new equipment.
The initiative comes as manufacturers increasingly focus on improving productivity, managing operating costs and upgrading production capabilities. Access to demonstrations and trials can help businesses understand machinery performance and identify equipment suited to their requirements.
With the new Experience Store, BSM India is seeking to strengthen its role as a manufacturing solutions provider, combining industrial machinery with technical expertise and after-sales support. The company plans to use this approach to help businesses make informed procurement decisions as they modernise their production operations.
The Purple Turtles has opened EDIT, a 20,000 sq ft design, retail and dining destination spread across seven floors at MAA House on Old Airport Road in Domlur, Bengaluru. The new space brings together furniture, lighting, antiques, home décor, art and dining within a restored architectural landmark.
The building dates back to 1987 and was originally designed by architect Karan Grover to serve as the corporate office of MAA Bozell. The property has now been adapted into a multi-level destination for design and lifestyle products while retaining key elements of its original architecture.
EDIT features a five-storey central atrium, skylights, balconies and integrated greenery. Its interiors also incorporate salvaged architectural elements sourced from buildings across India, including timber banisters, vintage shutters, doors, windows, archways and pillars. The seven-floor destination features a mix of contemporary furniture, lighting, antiques, vintage collectibles, textiles, tableware, books, fragrances, artwork and outdoor furniture.

Each floor has a distinct focus, with displays ranging from vintage collectibles and contemporary furniture to material-led installations and lighting concepts. The layout is intended to encourage visitors to explore the products and the design ideas behind them. The use of reclaimed architectural materials is another feature of the project. Rather than replacing all the existing elements, the redevelopment incorporates salvaged materials into the interiors, combining the building's original character with its new retail function.
The landscaped terrace features an outdoor collection by Beruru, including furniture, sculptures, pots and garden objects. The space is also intended to host workshops, talks and small gatherings. A fine-dining restaurant is planned as part of the larger destination, adding a dining component to the retail and design offering. The concept combines product discovery with architecture, craftsmanship, and cultural activities. Davaindia, the generic pharmacy retail chain operated by Zota Healthcare Ltd., has expanded its presence in Kerala with the launch of its first airport store at Kochi Airport. The move is aimed at improving access to affordable healthcare products and generic medicines for both travellers and local consumers.
Located at one of South India's busiest aviation hubs, the new pharmacy outlet is designed to cater to the healthcare and wellness needs of passengers, airport visitors, and nearby communities. The launch aligns with Davaindia’s strategy to strengthen the availability of affordable medicines and healthcare products across high-footfall locations.
The Kochi Airport store will offer more than 2,000 products, including generic medicines, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, first-aid products, personal care items, wellness solutions, and daily healthcare essentials. To address the needs of travellers, the outlet will also stock travel-focused products such as travel kits, Vitamin B12 oral strips, effervescent tablets, and sheet masks.
Sujit Paul, Group CEO, Zota Healthcare Ltd said, "The launch of our Kochi Airport store is an important step in our journey to make quality and affordable healthcare accessible wherever people need it. Airports bring together people from different cities and communities, and our presence here allows us to address an everyday need in a convenient and accessible manner. Through this store, we aim to bring the philosophy of ‘Har Ghar Ki Pharmacy’ to the airport environment, ensuring that healthcare and wellness essentials remain within easy reach even while people are travelling."
Davaindia currently operates more than 2,900 outlets across India and continues to expand its retail pharmacy network at a pace of approximately one new store every 24 hours. The company's growth strategy focuses on increasing access to affordable generic medicines and healthcare products across urban and regional markets. In Kerala, Davaindia's network is nearing 100 outlets. The opening of the Kochi Airport store further strengthens its presence in the state by adding a pharmacy outlet in a major travel and transit destination.
Looking ahead, the company plans to continue expanding across Kerala with the objective of increasing healthcare accessibility through both physical stores and e-commerce channels. The broader strategy is focused on building an integrated healthcare ecosystem that combines affordability, convenience, and accessibility for consumers across India.
